Pineland High School Holds Commencement Ceremony Pappas and Harmon Keynote Speakers VINELAND, NJ (June 15, 2011) – Pineland Learning Center (PLC), a private day-school providing individualized education programs, held a ceremony for the school’s 24 graduating seniors on Friday, June 3. Dean Pappas, CEO of Clement Pappas & Co in Carneys Point, NJ, and Daryl Harmon, Executive Chef of Waterworks Restaurant in Philadelphia, PA, were the keynote speakers. George Pierce and Farron Fleming were named the winners of the 2011 Katherine Clark scholarship for excellence in academic achievement, attendance, leadership, volunteering and community service. The $2,000 scholarships can be used for any continuing education expense. The scholarship is named after Katherine S. Clark, former student of PLC whose courage and determination during her battle for life inspired her fellow students and school officials to establish the fund in honor of her memory. Each year the committee chooses one or more needy students who plan to continue their education and who exude the same zest for life as Katherine did. During the ceremony, student council representatives addressed attendees and staff members spoke about the graduates’ many accomplishments. The seniors each received a certificate of completion from PLC and will receive diplomas from their sending school districts. “We are proud to celebrate all of our graduates and their achievements,” said Fred Eccleston, Director of Pineland Learning Center. “They have had a positive influence on our school and we wish the Class of 2011 continued success in the future.” The 2011 graduates of Pineland Learning Center are:
