Snakes 'n' Scales Show Brings Live Reptile Experience to Pineland Learning Center Students

VINELAND, NJ (June 12, 2009) –Pineland Learning Center (PLC), a private day-school providing individualized education programs to student throughout southern New Jersey hosted “Snakes ‘n’ Scales” on Thursday at their Vineland campus. This special show provided an up-close reptile experience for students in grades 7-12. The exhibit features a 7-foot American Alligator, a 5-foot Water Monitor Lizard and a 15-foot, 100 pound Burmese Python among other reptiles. Bill Boesenberg, an expert in reptiles, puts on the traveling show for schools throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware and Connecticut. Topics include zoology, classification, environmental science, evolution, physiology, animal psychology and animal training and handling.

“We brought the ‘Snakes ‘n’ Scales’ event to PLC as an exciting end-of-the-year activity,” said Fred Eccleston, Executive Director of PLC. “Not only is it a one-of-a-kind experience for our students but it also provides an opportunity for learning through a unique outlet.”
